Argentinean pianist, born in Buenos Aires. He began his musical studies at a very early age with Mercedes Taltabull.

In December 1997, Gabriel Paz obtained his master degree with honours, at the Conservatorio Nacional Superior de Musica ”Carlos López Buchardo”, in Buenos Aires, under the guidance of Mercedes Pomilio. Since 1995, he also studied with the noticeable pianist and Russian pedagogue Vera Anosova.
He has obtained several prizes and distinctions in various national and international competitions such as: Concurso Argentino de Música “Fundación Banco Mayo” 1991 (first prize), 1996 (semifinalist), Concurso de la ciudad de Necochea ”Homenaje a Alberto Williams” 1999, one of the most important and traditional competitions in Argentina, (second prize and the gold medal for the best interpretation of the work of Alberto Williams), Concurso Promociones Musicales 2000, (second prize).

Gabriel Paz has also done post-graduate studies at the “Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Graz” in 2002, as well as with Edith Fischer, (one of the most renowned pupils of Claudio Arrau), and Jorge Pepi Alòs, in Barcelona.

He has given several concerts as a soloist, and with orchestra such as: Sinfónica de Buenos Aires, Sinfónica de Córdoba, Orquesta de cámara Banco Mayo, Orquesta sinfónica del SODRE de Montevideo, Sinfónica de Tenerife, between others. He is also very interested in chamber music. Since 1992, he takes part regularly as a member of different chamber music groups in several of the most distinguished concert halls in Argentina, México, Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Spain, Austria, Germany, and other several countries of Europe.
